Good morning everyone
I hope you are all well and have a great weekend ahead
Thank you for the response to the DIY project, we’ve had some amazing offers which proves what a great community this is
Live sport on big screens For those that can’t get to Wimbledon, various places around the borough are showing sport on a big screen. With local lad Arthur Fery becoming only the second wild card to make the semifinal, you may want to pack up a nice picnic and head to one of the parks to cheer him on to victory. Not only tennis but you can also watch Golf, The Commonwealth Games, Cricket and the small tournament know as the FIFA World Cup, will it finally come home! Sports Big Screens | Merton Council
Vehicle-related ASB seizures coming into force via the Crime and Policing Act The measures remove the requirement for police officers to give a warning before seizing a motor vehicle used in an antisocial manner. There is also a change in the law to shorten the time between vehicles being seized by the police, and when they can be disposed of. You can read more about this here.
Concerned about a vacant property in your neighbourhood? Empty properties can become vulnerable to antisocial behaviour, vandalism and unauthorised access, creating concern for residents. Neighbourhood Watch is working in partnership with Ad Hoc Property Management to help members raise concerns about vacant buildings in their area. If you know of a vacant property causing concern, find out more and report it here
Protect your home in warm weather Warm weather can lead to increased antisocial behaviour and opportunistic burglaries within our communities. The home security experts at ERA share some tips to help you protect your property and support safer neighbourhoods throughout the summer season, from securing doors and windows to planning for holidays. Read more here. Learn about ERA’s range of smart home security solutions, visit https://eraprotect.com
Mental Health – Talking Therapies at the guild Whatever you're going through, help is now within reach. Wimbledon Guild has made all its Talking Therapies services free of charge for adults who live, work or study in Merton. The move removes cost as a barrier to getting support, in response to growing demand for mental health services across the community. Get in contact for one-to-one counselling, support groups, courses and workshops, with specialist support available for refugees, housebound residents, carers and people from Black and Asian communities.
Well, that’s enough from me, I hope you all have a lovely weekend and get to spend some part of it enjoying the weather. This still beats the cold, dark winter nights for me! I also get to get the BBQ out every weekend!
